I am so happy to be able to connect with you again! Things are somewhat settling down here in Denver, kids back to school and loving it. Well, it’s only first week of school hahahah. Anyways, I am thrilled to be back here with you! <3 .
Today, I wanted to touch on a subject that has come up with quite a few entrepreneurs I spoke with the past couple weeks, including some of my clients: the expectations we have of the people in our lives when it comes to our growing our business.
I remember when I first had my idea of growing this business I am in right now, I was super excited and wanted to share it with everyone close to me, expecting validation from them or for them to be as excited about my concept as I was. Guess what, no one was. You know why? They didn’t understand. They couldn’t see my vision the way that I saw it. If you feel like your sister, brother, husband, wife, or friend don’t understand what you are doing and what you choose to do in order to create the vision you have for your business, you are not alone, and please know that it’s very common.
When it comes to the person you share your life with, it’s very natural to want to share your excitement with them, but sometimes, they can become what my son calls a “party pooper”. Even though it might not be your partner’s intention, their words and actions may derail you from your dream. I thought I would share a few tips that helped my clients get back on track:
1. Make sure this is truly your heart’s desire.
2. Clearly state your vision to your partner, the steps that it will take you to get there, what you need their help with, and show them how this isn’t just for you but for all of you.
Isolating ourselves is not the answer.
3. Reflect: ask yourself what in you is bringing up the opposition from your partner. They are there to show us what is already brewing in us. So whatever reaction we are getting from them is just a reflection of what is happening inside of us. So if you want to address the reason why your partner is reacting the way they are, look to you and resolve it at that level first. If you feel they are sabotaging your business growth, find out why you are sabotaging your business.
I hope it helps. Have any questions or comments? simply reply and let me know. Would love to hear from you.
