[00:00:00] Hello, hello, hello. This is Dihessa. Welcome to Podcast episode number six, and I'm so excited to be here and to be sharing today's topic, uh, with you. And it is all about how we value ourselves. And it is all about what needed to shift within me, uh, for me to start attracting clients as a coach who actually make more money than I do, which to me is pretty mind blowing.
And I'll share why, uh, in a minute. And also I'm going to share with you. Uh, just one challenge for you to implement so that you can number one, feel more of your own value as a human being, more of your own value as a coach, and possibly actually increase your income, uh, this month, uh, from, uh, from this.
All right. So here we go. Uh, again, if you are here, you probably already know, uh, my name is Dehessa. It's probably [00:01:00] not the first time, but if this is your first time, welcome. Welcome. Uh. And, uh, I'm excited that you are here, either way, right? So, a phenomenon started happening, uh, in my business, uh, a while back, where people who actually make more money than me, and they are coaches, um, started hiring me as a coach.
Right. And the first time, actually, like, it's so interesting how, like, in the past, I actually never considered, like, if I saw somebody, if I saw, um, you know, like somebody, another coach and like, I realized that they're making more money than me for some reason, I never registered that they could actually be a client of mine in that arena.
Like, I don't know why, I guess I do know why, right? Like, I have shared my story. Uh, about how I grew up and how, uh, like I grew up in, in the, in a [00:02:00] way that, you know, I shared this story before on a masterclass, how, like, where, while I was growing up, um, I felt kind of like in the middle, depending on where I was, right?
Let's let, let me rewind this. So growing up, I grew up in Togo, West Africa. You're, you probably already, uh, you know, you may probably already know this, uh, I'll have heard me share this story before, but the point of the story is when I was growing up, uh, initially my parents and us, we actually lived in the city, in the city of Lomé, but then eventually my parents wanted to build their own house, but to be able to afford at the time to build their own house, they actually had to go way out of town, go way out of It wasn't even the suburb.
Like, there was nothing. Like, literally, when we moved there, there was no electricity, there was no running water, there was no, like, forget telephone, there was none of all of that, right? [00:03:00] But the interesting thing is, even while we were there, like, in the, you know, in that area of, uh, of, uh, you know, of Lomé, What it felt like was that the people who actually lived there, like the original humans who lived there, they felt like we had a lot.
And so living there, I felt like I had a lot. Uh, but then when I would go to school in the city, I felt like I was the poorest human being, right? So I lived with that kind of contrast my whole entire life. The contrasts were like, like for me, there was always some sort of like a hierarchy, right? It was so unconscious and I never actually really realized that it was like so ingrained, uh, within me.
So, uh, because of that, I always looked at people, right? I was like, it's not even just like, do they have money? Do they not have an, it's almost like in my mind, I almost put people like in some sort of [00:04:00] hierarchy, right? And I'm so glad that that. broke through, uh, for me, because humans are humans are humans.
These are all just boxes that we put people into. Uh, and then when I actually, when this started breaking for me, Is when, uh, even a million dollar, like over a million dollar coach hired me for my services with my team. And I was like, Oh my God, like, I can't believe this is happening. And I also had people who were making, because now like I've been all the way up to like around 50K in my, in my business, people who are making like over 50K.
And the business is hiring me. And then I realized something. First of all, what needed to shift to us, the number one thing that needed to shift from you was, stop putting people on a pedestal. Stop, like, putting this hierarchy. Amongst people, based on money, based on money, based on how much money they earn or do not [00:05:00] earn, based on how much money they have or do not have, it has nothing to do with that.
It's like, this is something, again, I wasn't doing this. Uh, very consciously. That's the first thing that I needed to shift, like literally, and I had to put myself in a situation where I was like, yes, I can actually give value to this human being, even though they may be making more money than me. The second thing is, I actually had to realize, what are the values that I bring?
Uh, into, into the world, right? And, uh, this is where I actually want to share this challenge with you as well. So, I finally realized that actually there are things that I do that, that I do so naturally. There are things that, uh, I have learned also to do so naturally that have become kind of second nature to me.
There are things that I even take for granted that there are a lot of people who are looking to actually experience that, to actually, [00:06:00] um, Learn that, right? And just like I'm speaking about myself now, what I know if you're listening to do it to this podcast is that whether you are a coach or not a coach or in life in general, it is a very likely that there are things that you are taking for granted, uh, in your own life that people will kill to actually master people kill or, well, kill might be a strong word, like people will So much like, like do so much or pay so much or invest so much just so that they can actually, uh, do what you do so naturally without even thinking about it, right?
This is what I actually really wanted to talk about is that oftentimes we, we, you know, it's like. The things that are so natural to us, we take for granted. And then we, we kind of like put so much effort chasing something, trying to do something because if you know, from the outside, and what I have come to realize is that the [00:07:00] things that come accurately to me, the most naturally are the things that people are so willing and so excited to pay thousands and thousands and thousands and thousands of dollars.
Uh, to either learn from me or to experience from me, uh, things like that. So a lot of the times for me personally, some of the things that when people hire the people who have hired me, uh, to, uh, to either like mentor them, even though they were like little, like some of them are even like business coaches.
Who are making more money than me, uh, hired me, this really mind blowing, hired me to teach them a few things about the here and there, this and that. Some of the things for me personally, right, I think one of the biggest thing is number one, my energy. Uh, no, some of them even have told me the reason one of the reasons is how captivating I am with my audience.
Some of [00:08:00] these humans have even told me like literally like how, for example, for me, based on my, you know, for example, this is like one specific example that was given to me for by one of my clients. And one of the things that she said was, right, even though her email list was way bigger than mine. And even though.
Uh, she's been in business a way longer than I have been. She was really, really, really puzzled by how much, how active the humans in my, in my room are, how, like, like she'll, she'll, you know, host the same event, the same, uh, masterclass or like she'll host a masterclass, for example. And even though the number of, uh, people humans on her email list was way bigger than mine.
There was like maybe one tenth of the people will show up live for her event, as opposed to how for me, for [00:09:00] example, I can literally do an impromptu. Uh, live and then people, people are there, which I'm so, so, so, so grateful for. Right. Some of the things that now, like I value so much, uh, you know, it's like, this is actually a challenge as well.
Like why, why do people pay you? You know, like. What are the different reasons people can pay you, should pay you for like, the more you can step into this, right? The more you can feel your value, the easier you can actually really, the more confidence you'll have when it comes to even making your offers.
When I think about this now, like when I think about, Oh my God. Like the reason why I should actually be, you know, charging X, Y, Z for my services. One of the reasons I actually personally have invested so much in bettering myself, in brightening up my own energy, in like, uh, in all these things, right? One of the reasons people buy from me are so happy and excited to buy from me is my presence alone.
[00:10:00] Why? Because I actually invest so much of my time and so much of my energy. Actually increasing the power of my own presence, like you can list all these things. So my challenge for you here is when you get a chance at, at any given moment, I can just Have a seat and then you can list all the way up to 50 reasons why people will pay you for your work.
50 different reasons. It can be your skills, it can be what you've invested in, it can be the experience that you have had. One of the most beautiful and amazing reasons why, for me personally, people pay me. Would invest in me and invest in me and actually are excited to do so is my experience, right, your experience, right, everything, you know, it's like, wow, like, a lot of the times you take this for granted.
But if you take a moment, and this is my challenge for you, if [00:11:00] you take a moment and actually sit down. And write all these reasons why people would actually buy from me, from you, not me. Why people would be so lucky to actually be in your presence and be doing this work with you. Right? If you are a coach.
And even if you're not a coach. This is not like a very good exercise for really, really tapping into your own value, tapping into all the experiences that you have had, right? And to me, for me, one other thing that I include in this is all the challenges that I have had and how I have guided myself through them.
Through them as well. A lot of the times we think that our challenges are our weaknesses and sometimes we even have shame around it and all these things. But for me, how I look at it is if I have gone through it, it is one reason there's no shame. And if I need to purify the [00:12:00] energy around it, if there's I do, but like there's no shame in all the experiences that I have had.
In my life, right? Your story, your experiences, what you've invested me in, the skills that you have developed, the experiences that you have had. I can go on and on and on and on. Please have a safe Make yourself, make some time for yourself and write down all the reasons why people will be so lucky, actually invest in working with you, or be so lucky to actually just simply be in your presence.
This is sounds like maybe it's for marketing, but actually most of it. Is for you yourself to tap into that preciousness that you already are, right? So I hope this was of value to you. I was literally like, literally as I'm recording this, I'm sitting [00:13:00] in the parking lot, waiting to go for my facial, uh, and now that the time has come, I have now just one minute.
To go in for my facial, you have got to love technology because in the past, I'll have had to be somewhere sitting, blah, blah, blah. But you know, like I finished, like I had an appointment for my manicure earlier, which I finished. And then there was a time in between my manicure and my facial, uh, and I thought to myself, what am I going to do at that time?
And so I recorded, uh, this, this podcast for you. It was meant to be recorded, uh, a few days ago, which I didn't get to do that, but I'm so glad I got to record it today, sitting in my car while waiting for my appointment. All right. Sending you a ton of love and I'll talk to you soon. Bye.
